In short, we are a family of five with a life-long love for celebrating with style and simplicity. We aim to share our honest penchant for festive evenings with the slightly greater public. We take great joy in scheming, cooking, shaking, tasting, illuminating, beautifying, welcoming and celebrating. But if you'd like the longer story.....

John is a pianist, an arranger, and producer with an appreciation for perfectly balanced lighting, a good pot of bouillabaise, and dangerously sharp cutlery. He prefers music without words during dinner and taught his daughters never to lick their knives. He now does precisely that, with relish. He is a big-hearted man of good taste and subtle humor.

Marty is his lovely wife, and if you look up the word "hospitality" in Webster's Dictionary, you'll find a picture of her broad smile. She is kind, warm, and intuitive in the kitchen. She was a caterer for fourteen years while her girls roller-skated and grew up. She can't refuse cold butter on warm baguette. She loves to taste, laugh and harmonize.

Evie has been reading cookbooks for pleasure since childhood, and cried actual tears when Gourmet closed its pages. She is absurdly happy when exploring farmer's markets, plotting menus, chopping onions, arranging flowers, penning place cards, and awaiting guests' arrivals. A perfect rhubarb pie is her heart's delight, she can't travel without her knives, and when she clinks champagne glasses with her beloved family on Sunday afternoons, she doesn't think life can get much better.

Angela is the elder of two daughters. She has a highly discerning eye for design and detail, a profound love for people and a razor-sharp wit. Her enthusiasm and imagination cannot be done without and her genuine smile is our best calling card. She didn't like to eat when she was a teenager but things have since changed. Her favorite candy is salty Swedish licorice, she adores white lilies, and her favorite man is....

Joshua. He joined us in October of 2002. He is a soft-spoken, artful, brilliant fellow. Although an architect by trade, he is a truly accomplished alchemist, cocktail- and cordial-speaking, in his spare moments. He will gladly consume an entire pot of well-made posole, a classic gin martini will set just about anything right for him, and he customarily puts on cuff links before he steps up to the bar.
